چکیده

[1] This investigation seeks to better understand the thermal infrared (TIR) spectral characteristics of naturallyoccurring amorphous materials through laboratory synthesis and analysis of glasses. Because spectra of glass phases differ markedly from their mineral counterparts, examination of glasses is important to accurately determine the composition of amorphous surface materials using remote sensing datasets. Quantitatively characterizing TIR (5–25 mm) spectral changes that accompany structural changes between glasses and mineral crystals provides the means to understand natural glasses on Earth and Mars. A suite of glasses with compositions analogous to common terrestrial volcanic glasses was created and analyzed using TIR reflectance and emission techniques. Documented spectral characteristics provide a basis for comparison with TIR spectra of other amorphous materials (glasses, clays, etc.). Our results provide the means to better detect and characterize glasses associated with terrestrial volcanoes, as well as contribute toward understanding the nature of amorphous silicates detected on Mars. Thermal removal from near‐infrared imaging spectroscopy data of the Moon

[1] In the near‐infrared from about 2 mm to beyond 3 mm, the light from the Moon is a combination of reflected sunlight and emitted thermal emission. There are multiple complexities in separating the two signals, including knowledge of the local solar incidence angle due to topography, phase angle dependencies, emissivity, and instrument calibration. Thermal emission adds to apparent reflectanc...

In Vitro Bioactivity and Physical - Mechanical Properties of Fe2O3 substituted 45S5 Bioactive Glasses and Glass - ceramics

Abstract — Fe2O3 substituted 45S5 bioactive glasses were prepared. Glass derived Bioactive Glass ceramics were obtained through controlled crystallization of bioactive glasses. Nucleation and crystallization regimes were determined by the parameters obtained from differential thermal analysis (DTA) of bioactive glasses. The formed crystalline phases in bioactive glass ceramics were identified u...

Determination of Protein and Moisture in Fishmeal by Near-Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy and Multivariate Regression Based on Partial Least Squares

The potential of Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (NIRS) as a fast method to predict the Crude Protein (CP) and Moisture (M) content in fishmeal by scanning spectra between 1000 and 2500 nm using multivariate regression technique based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) was evaluated. The coefficient of determination in calibration (R2C) and Standard Error of Calibra...

بررسی خواص اپتیکی شیشه‌های سیستم GeO2-PbO-CaO-SrO در حضور مقادیر مختلف از اکسیدهای کلسیم و استرانسیم

In the present study, the structural, optical and thermal behaviors of GeO2-PbO-CaO-SrO glasses were investigated to achieve the highest optical properties and thermal stability. Accordingly, different 50GeO2-(50-x)PbO-xCaO and 50GeO2-(50-x)PbO-xSrO (x=0, 10, 20) germanate glasses were prepared by the conventional melt and quench technique between two steel sheets. The produced samples were cha...
